A Lifestyle, not a Job
Ayla Xuân Chi’s commitment to Liberation starts and ends with ending the U.S.’ prison system once and for all. Part of their activism and belief in prison abolition also extends to dismantling the school to prison pipeline, which is highlighted in their most recent placement in a high school campus in the Northeast Bronx. Their responsibilities included supporting the school community through circle facilitation, high risk mediation, community building, professional development trainings, mentorship, violence prevention education, and more. Outside of high schools, Sullivan infuses restorative justice in their art engagement with audience members who are incarcerated or system impacted. They live this, breathe this, shout this work.
